Privacy Policy

Effective June 28, 2026

The short version: your golf journal lives on your phone. If you sign in, it's also backed up to your private cloud vault that only you can access. When you use the AI Caddie, your session data is sent to our AI provider to generate your coaching — it isn't used to train AI models. We don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps.

What Grooved stores

Your golf journal — sessions, feels, goals, your bag, swing-read notes, and profile details (like name, handicap, and handedness) you choose to enter. This lives on your device.
Your account — if you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and (if you share it) your email address. Signing in is optional.
Your cloud backup — when signed in, a copy of your journal is stored in your personal vault on our database (hosted by Supabase) so you can restore it on a new phone. It's protected so that only your account can read or write it.

The AI Caddie

When you use AI Coach features (Ask Your Caddie, briefs, Feel vs. Real), the relevant parts of your journal — recent sessions, feels, goals, and any swing-read text you've pasted — are sent through our server to Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to generate your coaching. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.

Swing videos never touch Grooved. If you use Feel vs. Real, you share your video with an outside AI service yourself (like Google Gemini) under that service's own terms — only the text summary you paste back is stored in Grooved.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status — it receives purchase receipts and your account identifier, never your payment details. We never see your card.

What we don't do

No ads, and no selling or renting your data to anyone.
No tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.
Notifications are scheduled on your device — we don't run a marketing push system.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account any time inside the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). That permanently removes your account and cloud vault from our servers. Data on your phone stays yours — deleting the app removes it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Cloud vaults are isolated per-account with row-level security — one account can never read another's data.

Children

Grooved isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
